About Emily Emily Hogye is an Equestrian Vaulter. She's also a lifelong horse woman, heart and soul, whole-heartedly dedicated to living and breathing all things horses.
Emily was a part of Vaulting's Team USA who brought home the Bronze Medal from the World Vaulting Championships in 2008, and the Gold Medal from the 2010 Alltech/FEI World Equestrian Games. Emily follows in the footsteps of her parents, mom and dad both being lifelong equestrians. Emily's life has been fully surrounded by horses from day one. At age 3, she found Pegasus Vaulting Club and their little chestnut Quarter Horse, Rosie. After participating in a "tiny-tots" recreational vaulting program and learning all of her vaulting moves at home on her shetland pony, Crystal (from her dad, who was a Gold medalist vaulter), Emily was introduced to "everlasting vaulting," which has since shaped her life, and continues to do so. Along with vaulting, Emily is an avid rider and equestrian. She has been rated up to the C1 level in Pony Club, and rides a very wide variety of different western and English disciplines. Emily has a strong love and passion for Dressage, which she hopes to pursue further in her equestrian career. With her petite size, Emily specializes in training ponies and smaller horses, though enjoys working with horses of all breeds and sizes. She is hard working, dedicated, determined, and not afraid of a challenge. Emily is a riding instructor and vaulting coach. She enjoys teaching and mentoring young, up-and-coming equestrians and helping them to establish a strong connection and relationship with their horse and develop their skills and abilities as equestrians themselves. Emily lives in Ben Lomond, California, on a small home ranch with her family. She and her mother, Mona Hogye, manage and coach Brookside Vaulters (located at the Hogye residence), founded in 2004, as well as give riding lessons and mentor young, aspiring equestrians. Emily works day by day taking care of her animals, working her horses, and learning to be the best horse woman she can be. She is whole-heartedly dedicated to her equestrian endeavors, especially her vaulting, and trains at the elite, High Performance USEF/ FEI level. Emily graduated high school a year early, Class of 2013, from Ocean Grove Charter School. She graduated with straight A's and a solidly-maintained 4.0 GPA. She is now a student at Cabrillo College and has her eyes set on an equestrian profession, hoping to establish a career in the elite level of the equestrian world. Emily currently vaults as an independent at the Senior 3*, or "Gold" level. She works hard to pursue vaulting at the elite, international FEI level and her goal is to be a strong representative and competitor for the United States. Emily also dreams of someday representing the USA at the Olympic/"WEG Level" in other equestrian disciplines.
